Benedict Cumberbatch, pronounced Bennenenidict Cumemberbattkch (LOLz!), had a pretty intense diet for Star Trek: Into Darkness! He ate 4,000 calories A DAY!
These are the awful (sarcasm!) steps you have to take when you need to bulk up for a role, we guess. You know, like gorging on fattening foods, going to a physical boot camp, etc.!
Here's what he said about it all:
"It was the first time I'd really intensely shape-shifted … To go up from a 38 chest to a 42, eating 4,000 calories a day and training two hours a day, as well as the stunt rehearsals and fight choreography, was the most physical demand that's ever been made of me for the screen."
We bet it was worth it! Being a part of the Abrams' sequel was probably incredible, even though he didn't swoon over the saga when he was younger:
"Not very much … I obviously have a latent fan fixation with 'Star Trek' because of how thrilled I was when everyone got together in the first reboot. I never was obsessive about anything I watched when I was a kid, except maybe 'The A-Team' and 'Airwolf' … And I loved 'Knight Rider' and then later 'Baywatch'."
LOLz! We can't imagine him sitting down and spending hours watching Baywatch!
Unless he wasn't exactly watching… Ha!
We can't wait to see the flick, Benedict (we're afraid to call you Ben for short, btw!)!
