Lance Armstrong Can't Even Compete In A Swimming Competition!

lance armstrong swimming competition doping agency banned sports cycling lie cheating

Hey Lance Armstrong!

We're sorry to hear that you're unable to take part in a swimming competition in Texas, but maybe you shouldn't have cheated in sports for all those years and then followed it all up with lies. You'd probably be able to compete in anything you wanted had you not done that! Just sayin'!

LOLz!

Armstrong wanted to compete at the Masters South Central Zone Swimming Championships in his home town of Austin this weekend. It has nothing to do with cycling, it isn't subjected to USA or World Anti-Doping Agency codes. No prob, right?

Wrong! He entered in the 500, 1,000 and 1,650-yard freestyle events, and then FINA put a stop to it — they're swimming's governing body. Apparently the competition is under the jurisdiction of U.S Masters Swimming and quoted FINA rule DC 15.1.

Here's what it says:

"The Testing, therapeutic use exemptions and hearing results or other final adjudications of any Signatory to the Code which are consistent with the Code and are within the Signatory's authority, shall be recognized and respected by FINA and its Member Federations.

FINA wrote a letter to the U.S. Masters Swimming (with copy to US Aquatic Sports and USA Swimming) requesting not to accept the entry of Mr. Lance Armstrong in the above mentioned competition."

Hey Lance, one more thing.

What's the need to compete in official things like this? Can't you just go out and swim and bike and stuff on your own for health and fun? The competition part isn't necessary, plus you gotta see that people don't want you disgracing other sports like you did with cycling, so why not drop it?

Enjoy your life! You're still way better off than some people in the world, quit trying to take more when you don't need it!

As a long term supporter of Lance Armstrong, I felt humiliated when he finally came out and said that he cheated as I had argued his case for years. Although I don't support what he did and obviously think he should be punished for it, not allowing him to compete in a home town swimming competition is just petty. The reason why they can't give someone else his titles is because you'd have to go down to 7th place or something stupid like that to find someone who wasn't doping. What gives you guys the right to laugh at him for wanting to compete in something, trying to better himself? You can argue for tolerance for all but what you're doing here is exactly what your condemning others of. It's hypercritical and childish, get over yourselves.

  18. 18

Okay, now I just feel bad for him. Yeah, he doped and he lied and he clearly deserves to be punished…but plenty of others have done the same in plenty of sports and are still allowed to compete today. This just seems too far.

His athletic prowess was bogus. No level playing field. He should have tried to do it cleanly.
It means nothing to win that way. It only means you're a better cheater than others.
Win at all costs…and now this is one of those costs.

Exactly Perez…don't know why this dude wants to compete when all he did while competing was cheat. That isn't actually competing is it? Plus he blew it and doesn't deserve the chance to compete anymore. I'm with you on this 100 percent. :D

I agree with my fellow commenters here who said that it was not only that Lance Armstrong cheated, but that he destroyed anyone who told the truth. Going a bit further he also had a whole huge group of cyclist also use dope to help him cheat and win thereby having them risk their lives because of the health risk. They lost their careers, and even minds using those vicious doping drugs. He has no moral fiber, is a cruel sick man. He shows no remorse for what he has done just that he was caught. He is on the same level as a Chris Brown who whines about what HE lost and cares not about what HE did. I believe if he had to do it over again, he would do it the same way..cheat.
