Aww! We're happy to hear that Lamar Odom is getting some positive recognition despite his recent charity scandal claims!!
Ex-college hoop star Ryan Pearson recently gave his kudos to the Clippers athlete for helping him stay off the streets and giving him the chance to create a good life for himself, and while Ryan graduated from George Mason University last year and made the AP Honorable mention All-American while playing basketball for the college… he revealed that everything that happened in his life is because of Lamar.
When Odom rescued Pearson from the streets, his family was struggling financially, but instead of just letting the 23-year-old struggle, the NBA star lent a helping hand, and Ryan's mama, Leslie Pearson couldn't be more grateful.
Lamar met Pearson when he was only 11 years old, and once he got to know him, he saw the potential and quickly put him on a "life scholarship," which included playing on a traveling team, paying for meals, team registration fees, buses and putting him in a private school.
Miz Pearson thinks that a lot of the funds came from Odom's Cathy's Kids charity, so when she heard that Lamar was caught up in a scandal, she exclaimed that there is no way that's possible because he's a "saint."
"Lamar always showed up to support the basketball team and he would have BBQs at his house for all the families and players."
With the support from Lamar, Ryan graduated with a degree in sports management, and now he's doing big THANGS playing basketball in Europe.
See, Odom isn't such a bad guy after all!!
