We really hope Rutgers University does more than an investigation because Mike Rice needs to be put away!!
Last week, the Rutgers coach was FIRED after a tape revealed that he had been hitting, kicking, throwing basketballs and verbally abusing his team, and now, the school is opening up an investigation.
The college had a board meeting on Thursday and is currently in the process of easing out of the scandal and trying to get things back together, so they worked out a plan to make things go as smoothly as possible.
While Rice was suspended last year and fined $50,000 for his bad behavior, the vice chairman of the board of governors, Gerald Harvey wished that the school would've firgured something out in 2012 because according to him, firing Mike was "a very poor decision."
Once the former coach was told to hit the road, the interim senior vice president and university counsel, John Wolf and University President Robert Barchi decided to give up their positions, which prompted former state attorney general, John Farmer to go into the school and try to make a difference.
During the meeting, State Senate President Stephen Sweeney requested that board member Mark Hershhorn be let go because he knew what Rice was up to, but even though he wanted Mike to be fired, Sweeney is talking shiz because Hershhorn apparently didn't tell the full-board that he should be fired.
Now, with the university's lawyer settled, the school must decide who will coach the Rutgers basketball team. The players are hoping for assistant coach David Cox to take the job because he's been such a big help lately, and surprisingly enough, the players said Rice's behavior was never as bad as it seemed.
Well, well, well!
It seems like some people just don't mind abuse, but hey, we're just outsiders looking in, so who knows what really went down!!
