Boston Marathon Tragedy: Third Victim Identified

boston marathon explosion bomb tragedy deaths victim identified

At the request of her family, we won't be identifying the third victim of the horrible Boston Marathon bombing by picture. She was a student at Boston University. The second victim was identified yesterday.

News outlets first thought that it was a student named Zhou Danling, but that was incorrect as the official Xinhua and the Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post were reporting Zhou was only injured.

The consulate had also announced that another student, named Lu Lingzi, was missing. After the announcement, that's when her family asked to keep it quiet and to keep her pictures out of the press.

The horror on Monday has caused such awful pain and sorrow, and yet again something unimaginably horrible has not broken the will of good and decent people as we watch millions reaching out to help. Our hearts go out to those affected by this in ways that we could never understand.

For more information on the whole ordeal, HERE's what we know.

Please donate blood. Donate time. Donate money. Boston needs us.

Her family havec asked her name not to be released. So why do you write it on your website? I had higher thoughts of you, it's really low to post something the family specifically have asked NOT to be released. You should respect their wishes and her legacy.

Re: Anna – He said by picture, which he didnt do. Though if she was a student it wouldnt be hard to find i guess.

I created an account just to comment on this.

The victim's family had requested that their daughter's NAME and photo not be released. All reputable news outlets have honored this. I didn't have high expectations for you, but even this is low. Disregarding the poor family's request is simply negligent, foolish, and inexcusable. You truly lack common sense and decency.
