The Boston Marathon tragedy has scarred many, taken lives and has left an empty feeling in our hearts, and even though both the suspects who planted the bombs during the marathon have yet to be found, we're still doing everything in our power to keep our composure.
With that said, since Adidas has sponsored the 26.2 mile race for the past 25 years, they took it upon themselves to create an inspirational T-shirt that will benefit the Boston Marathon victims.
Adidas America president Patrik Nilsson said:
“The selflessness and compassion demonstrated by the city of Boston, the first responders, the Boston Athletic Association and all marathon volunteers in providing assistance to the injured have stuck with us and inspired us. We commend Boston — and those associated with the city and the marathon — for their reaction to this very challenging situation. We applaud them for standing together as one on Monday and in the days which have followed.”
The shirt is retailing for $26.20 and is being sold on the BAA and Adidas websites with 100 percent of the proceeds going to The One Fund Boston Inc., which is geared toward helping everyone who was affected by Monday's bombings.
We're glad that the athletic brand is doing such a wonderful thing like this, but we're not surprised, considering that they have had ties to Boston months before the marathon.
The shirt, which reads 'Boston stands as one' is for sure gonna attract a lot of attention, which we hope will make a difference!!
