Last week, two monsters planted bombs at the Boston Marathon which resulted in three deaths and over 260 injured.
But with all the DRAMz going on behind this horrific event, Nike pulled their 'Boston Massacre' T-shirts from stores because the tops no longer have the same meaning.
If you're an extreme baseball fan, then you already know that the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox have had a rivalry for many years. After the Yankees won the championship series in 1978 and then in 2006, fans wanted to gloat about their precious wins, so Nike did a spin off of the historical 1770 massacre to honor the wins.
The only problem is that since the shirt is splattered with blood, and the image now seems to portray the tragedy that recently happened, it's no longer a good look!
A Nike spokesperson said:
“The shirts being referenced are older baseball shirts that were predominantly being sold through our Factory Store Outlets. In light of the tragedy in Boston we took immediate action last week to remove this productfrom distribution.”
The shirt, unfortunately, can still be found on eBay with a hefty price tag if $129.97, which originally retailed at $79.99, but we're just happy that it is no longer in stores.
Would U ever wear this shirt???
