For the first time since her divorce, Eva Longoria has opened up about how it's affected her health and healthy goals! She wants to empower Latina women to get in control of their health!
That's why she went on Dr. Oz's show — to make waves in all of her fans that need to get serious about their lives!
“That's probably the time I got the most compliments because I was so skinny. I was not eating. I was depressed. I was sad. My diet was coffee. So people kept saying, you look amazing. Divorce agrees with you. And I was like, I don't feel good. I have no energy. I didn't know I was depressed. I mean, I knew it was a sad moment in my life, but I wouldn't categorize myself as depressed. I'm not that, I'm an optimist about life. Life didn't work, moving on. I'm fine. And then I went to the doctor to get some blood tests because I said something's wrong. And I was just depleted of every vitamin. He said it’s as if somebody took a straw and sucked everything out of your body. You don’t have any iron, your liver's overacting. It was like all these things were physically wrong with my body, so I had to saturate with vitamins and kind of get back on this track.”
And so she did!
It's a shame that it took a scary situation to get her focused on her health again, but we're glad it did!
Here's how she did it:
“I cut out all sugar, anything that turns into sugar, is sugar. I love a soda, I'm not a chocolate candy person, but, I like pasta in anything. For about three months, I did a really strict no sugar diet, and I had more energy than I've ever had. My palate was different. Things tasted better.”
Listen up, everyone! We KNOW it's hard! It's not easy to get on the right track, but people do it all the time! Eva is an amazing health role model to have, and we should all be listening to her!
She even has a lot to say about heart health (below)! She has a message for everyone, so the least we could do is listen up — and tune in to the full episode on Friday!
