ESPN Analyst Calls Openly Gay Athlete A Non-Christian Sinner 'Walking In Open Rebellion To God'!

| Filed under: TV NewsGay Gay GaySad SadBasketball

Jason Collins is gay and he's out and he's comfortable in his own skin… and we couldn't be more proud of the courage he's shown!

In fact, when the NBA vet shocked the world with his historic Sports Illustrated revelation today, the vast majority of the his colleagues' reactions were kind, genuine, and accepting!

Unfortunately, it only takes one or two rotten apples to spoil the whole bunch!

First Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace tweeted ignorant comments toward Jason and now ESPN's premiere NBA analyst Chris Broussard has taken the intolerance to the next level!!

Ch-ch-check out his unfathomable statements on ESPN's Outside the Lines (above)!

We expect members of the media to be fair, but instead Chris threw all sorts of shade and judgement at Jason!

His homophobic rant was just uncool and intolerant on several levels; it's frankly shocking!!

Thankfully, Jason has infinitely more supporters than detractors!

Hopefully his actions inspire others who want nothing more than to live comfortably in their own skin!

I've never read the bible, but can someone tell me where it says it's a sin to be gay?

Why do Christians seem to always forget that it says in the bible you should love all that its not up to us to judge others? In fact, judging is a sin? Oh, that's right because they use the bible to fit their own purposes and ego.

Re: loriso – The book of Romans. Also on judging - it's not judging to say that the Bible says this or that. I guess when asked for his opinion he should have just said I'm a Christian and our opinions are no longer welcome in America despite the 1st Amendment.

I find it humorous how some people call those who don't agree with homosexuality ignorant, hypocrite, or say they are judging homosexuality when they disagree. Chris Broussard along with anyone else are allowed to have an opinion and it doesnt make them ignorant or even judging. The only people who are judging here are the commenters and Perez Hilton, which makes you all the hypocrites.

You are ignorant. Can people disagree with you?…There are Many people who do not agree solely on Religious reasons. It is Not personal. I am not one of them, but let people live their life and religion as they want.

Charles Barkley and Anderson Cooper were just talking about this on the news. And CB was saying that he doesn't agree with this guys opinion, but he respects it because it's how he feels. They agreed that not everyone is going to agree with homosexuality due to religious beliefs and they understood that. They said that people like this have just as much right to say what they want and they should be allowed to.
Now that was a great way of looking at it, rather than bashing Chris Broussard. They recognized his opinion, politely disagreed, and moved along.

I thought Jason Collins enjoyed handling balls a little too much :-)

Re: Michmasterflex – the Lord says its an abomination before the Lord a man lying with a man or a woman lying with a woman. book of Romans. I'm sure the Bible will be deemed hate speech before to long.

Re: shaygirl1309 – It is. Wake p : the bible was written by ignorant tribesmen to enslave other slightly more ignorant tribesmen.

Liberals like Perez Hilton love free speech until someone says something they disagree with then it is ignorance and prejudiced. This is American, we have freedom of speech. If this man doesn't agree with homosexuality that is his right. Just like it is your right to agree with it. I hate this blog, I've said it a long time. I am going to search for another one.

PERV-ez is censoring again. Just because someone who disagrees with him tries to post calling him out for his failure, he gets cut. PERV-ez you're despicable.

He has a RIGHT to his opinion, just like you have a right to yours. He doesnt have to support anything he doesnt believe n.

WOW! I love how he talks about what the christian bible says about homosexuality. The Christian bible does NOT say that, the Tora or jewish text does. Get it right you christian fascist. I love how he describes what it says about gay and other people in the bible, but he does not mention what it says to do too them. It says to put them to death. So Chris do you beliee all gays and others, as you describe them, should be put to death. You obviously do, since youre a Christian and you follow the bible. So Chris believes all gays, and others, should be put to death. His words not mine.

    Re: Keno

The bible does not teach that all gays should be put to death. In the old testament there were offenses such as infidelity, theft, murder - mostly morally wrong things that were punishable by stoning. Jesus never taught that sinners should be put to death. But He did teach that just because somebody "claims" to be a Christian, does not make them a Christian. And the bible does NOT say it is a sin to judge. Talk about taking things out of context. Everybody fails to read the part that comes immediately after that statement because it doesn't line up with what they want to hear or say. Be sure you don't take the bible out of context when trying to refute what you claim isn't biblical teaching.

  19. 19

It's all open to interpretation, and there is so much cherry picking that not one single "christian" lives and dies by the "holy" book.
