Back in February, Robbie Rogers came out as a gay man, and even though he hasn't been playing soccer for some time now, he got back on the field and trained with the El Lay Galaxy on Tuesday!!
OOOOH! Maybe we can get a date with him??? LOLz
The 25-year-old hottie played several years in Europe before he came out, and now that he returned to California, he's trying to get in good with the two-time MLS Cup champions.
Robbie's contract is currently with the Chicago Fire, but after he trained with the Galaxy, head coach Bruce Arena gave Rogers all sorts of support, he said:
"I think our league is a progressive league. Our league is a league comprised of all different races, colors and creeds, and to be accepting of a gay athlete I don’t think is anything that’s difficult for our league."
Chicago's head coach, Frank Klopas added:
“It’s great that he came out. I’m sure he has a lot of people supporting him and we are too. He’s a young guy, for him to want to come back and play is great for us, that’s why we took his rights.”
We're happy to hear that the footballer is in high spirits with the decision he made to come out, and because he's getting a lot of support, we can only hope that the NBA star, Jason Collins, who just revealed that he's gay, gets the same amount of support!!
Ch-ch-check out the Galaxy players and Arena talking about Rogers (below)!!
We've been hearing a lot about CTE recently -- chronic traumatic encephalopathy, the brain disease caused by repeated blows to the head in athletes like football players -- and now Cuba Gooding Jr. has made some inneresting comments about it and O.J. Simpson.
