Guess everyone wants a piece of the Manti Te'o DRAMz, even if they get sued for it! LOLz
Dr. Phil and his production company, Peteski Productions are suing Gawker Media and it's site Deadspin for airing an episode from his specal two part series, which featured an interview with hoaxer, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, who claimed to be Te'o's girlfriend.
The suit was filed on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for Eastern District of Texas, and states that Deadspin published the second part of the series after it aired in a few TV markets where Ronaiah did "the voice" of Manti's fake girlfriend.. and considering that the first episode was supposed to get everyone ready for the second part, after the media site revealed "the voice," it made ratings fall.
Dr. Phil's complaint states:
"In a premeditated plan to steal Peteski's copyrighted material, Deadspin posted the video of the second show to the Deadspin blog not later than 9:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, hours before the Dr. Phil Show aired to over 98 percent of its viewers. Although the second show was expected to exceed the ratings number of the first show, in fact, the ratings declined substantially because the the result of the 'CLIFFHANGER' was no longer in doubt. It had been misappropriated by Deadspin."
Now, Dr. Phil is seeking unspecified damages because he feels that Deadspin and Gawker are "serial copyright infringers."
What do U think? Do U blame him for calling them out???
