Angelina Jolie's Brave Aunt Debbie Battles Stage Four Breast Cancer After Testing Positive For Gene Mutation!

| Filed under: Angelina JolieInspirationSad SadFamilyCancer

Even though we can't even begin to comprehend how difficult Angelina Jolie's courageous decision to undergo a double mastectomy must have been for the incredible, inspirational actress, it's clear that she made the choice knowing just how devastating the toll can be for those with the defective gene that is linked to both breast and ovarian cancer!

And not just because she lost her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, to the same disease!

Sadly, it appears that Angie's Aunt Debbie, her mom's sister, is now battling stage four breast cancer, even though she elected to have her ovaries removed after taking a test that showed she also carried the faulty BRCA1 gene.

Watch her bravery and perseverance, covered in a story for Inside Edition (above)!

So unreal to think that this disease has ravaged an entire family for so many generations, but hopefully, by coming forward and discussing their struggles so openly, women like Angie and her Aunt Debbie can break the cycle and raise awareness so others in similar situations have the information and resources necessary to make potentially life-saving decisions regarding their health.

Stay strong, you guys! You're in our prayers!

Wonder if Angelina slept with Aunt Debbie's boyfriend, like she slept with her "BELOVED" mother's boyfriend? I wonder. That Angelina, she's so special!

What a bunch of disgusting self absorbed creeps in the house. Good on you Perez! People who would lack compassion for anyone facing major health issues of terminal cancer are just those who are already the empty, living dead who suck our society dry from real humanity!

Re: Heart – I think the living dead are women who victimize other woman, and then have amnesia and think they're Mother Theresa!

"Angie's Aunt Debbie, her mom's sister, is now battling stage four breast cancer, even though she elected to have her ovaries removed " You're aware that having your ovaries removed doesn't affect breast cancer in any way, shape, or form, right?

Re: The Eric – Well in that case, you ARE aware that it says "after taking a test that showed she also carried the faulty BRCA1 gene" right? It means she carries both breast cancer and ovarian cancer.

I think it's great she is using her self as an example of women who are beautiful and showing that having a mastectomy makes you no less beautiful. She is not saying to have one, just that if you do, you are no less of a person. It also is bringing to the forefront the patenting of genes and of the need for healthcare to all people. She brought at least three important issues up even if not intentionally. That is a good thing.

@bigboot, I'm sure they are! Because when you have cancer, a decent human being hopes that others become informed to prevent the same fate. They don't say "why isn't anyone focusing on me!"

Jolie's decision is incredibly courageous. Not just because she went through a horrible operation or lost her breast, but because of the incredible decisiveness of her actions when presented with uncertain data.

Well, well, well, where was she to help her "auntie"? Jolie is a selfish, self centered, "me, my, and my own" person. She is as far from being heroic or brave as can be. I wonder if she drops even a quarter for her aunt to lessen her sufferings, now that she has failed to help her poor relation to prevent the bloody thing like she did for herself. I doubt it. I doubt it very much indeed.
