We can't even imagine what a profound, emotional evening this must have been for him!
Hell, we're moved to tears just LOOKING at the poor guy!
After his hugely successful career that has spanned over 20 years, David Beckham played his final game as a professional soccer player during last night's match between Paris Saint-Germain and Brest, which his team ended up winning 3-1!
However, by the end of the match, BOTH teams, as well as the full audience of spectators at Parc des Princes in Paris - including his wife Victoria Beckham and children Romeo, Brooklyn, Cruz and Harper - ERUPTED into applause that left the 38-year-old in tears!
He says in a statement:
“It’s been very special to finish my career here. It could not have been any more special. I just feel that it’s the right time [to retire]. I feel that I’ve achieved everything that I could in my career. I wanted to go out as a champion. I’ve finished my career in a team that has treated me like I’ve been here for 10 years. After 22 years of playing football I’m going to take a few months to enjoy time with my family.”
And he started that right away, by bringing his kids onto the field with him to be part of the celebration!
Ch-ch-check out photos from the bittersweet evening (above and below)!
We couldn't be more proud of the career you forged for yourself over the past 20 years, Becks! You've been an inspiration to so many!
Now go kick back, relax, and enjoy every precious moment you have with that beautiful family of yours!
