We can't be the only ones extremely exciteballz for the new Liberace movie Behind The Candelabra with Michael Douglas and Matt Damon! We REFUSE to hear anyone say otherwise! LOLz!
During a press conference for the HBO film at Cannes, Michael Douglas opened up about what the role meant to him… and how it ended up meaning so much more to him as a cancer survivor — and it had nothing to do with getting to kiss Matt Damon! LOLz!
Here's what he said:
"It was right after my cancer that this beautiful gift was given to me. I'm eternally grateful to Steven, Matt [Damon] and [producer] Jerry (Weintraub)."
Here's an interesting fact: Michael was offered the role SEVEN years ago! If you want to get technical, though, Steven Soderbergh originally brought it up to him on the set of Traffic, which was in 2000. It was just an idea at that point!
We really can't wait to see it!
