National chains are a great way to get your product out, in higher (pun intended) quantities, for cheaper prices!
So, why wouldn't a nation of Doritos Locos Tacos lovers want a national chain of pot stores?? They totally would!
Jamen Shively is the CEO of Seattle-based Diego Pellicer, and he's just announced a plan to invest $100 million over the next three years in the burgeoning "social marijuana" market! That's means NATIONAL CHAINS! That's a lot of money to test the Obama administration's tolerance for ignoring federal drug prohibition, but we already know one successful drug that has come from Seattle — Starbucks. So it COULD work!
Here's what he said:
"Yes, we are Big Marijuana. [Our ambitions are to] be the most recognized brand in an industry that does not exist yet."
This guy could be unfathomably wealthy once the law catches up to both science and the will of the nation!
In three years he plans to open a dozen branded stores in Washington State, another dozen stores in Colorado, and as many as hundreds in California, regardless of the pointless shutdowns the feds are performing in El Lay recently.
This also means that they'll be employing about 1,000 people locally and 10,000 people nationwide. Who would want to shut that down??
Party poopers, that's who!
