We're so happy to hear this!
Music legend Lou Reed has had his liver transplant, and is now recovering!
The former singer for The Velvet Underground had a liver transplant last month at the age of 71. He needed it too — he was dying, and the situation was grave. This isn't a case of a celebrity getting a new priority liver before they really need it.
Here's what Lou said:
"I am a triumph of modern medicine, physics and chemistry. I am bigger and stronger than ever. My Chen Taiji and health regimen has serve me well all of these years, thanks to Master Ren Guang-yi."
He's talking about Tai-Chi!
Anyway, after getting healthy, his main priority is to get back up on stage and perform:
"I look forward to being on stage performing, and writing more songs to connect with your hearts and spirits and the universe well into the future."
Get better soon, Lou! The world is waiting for you!
