Apparently baseball isn't the only place where steroids are a problem!
It's not uncommon for contestants of The Bachelorette to have chiseled bods and amazing physiques, but according to season four winner Jesse Csincsak, a lot of the men aren't getting their muscles the natural way!
The pro snowboarder says most of the guys on the show are juicing up to get an edge, and even worse, they aren't getting tested for using these drugs:
"I know that a lot of guys do steroids before they’ll go on the show. They don’t tell you to. They just don’t test for it… They’ll drug test you, but they’re drug testing you for illegal drugs like cocaine and stuff like that. They take a urine sample. They take a blood sample. They even told me to stop smoking weed, and I don’t smoke weed."
According to doctors, contestants wont test positive for steroids unless they are being tested specifically for a certain steroid, and a source close to the show says that DEFINITELY isn't the case:
"I can assure you that they don’t. I mean, why would they be concerned about someone taking steroids?"
Maybe because it's a DANGEROUS drug!!
Jesse goes on to say that having a nicely sculpted bod definitely helps out in the casting process, and it isn't uncommon for potential contestants to be asked to take off their shirts and show what they're working with. But he also thinks there's another reason the show turns a blind eye towards steroids:
"Roids make you angry. That makes for good TV. So steroids are probably the producers’ drug of choice for dudes because they can get them angry, boozed up, and ready to fight."
ABC has declined to comment on whether or not they test potential contestants for steroids.
It's no secret that a show like The Bachelorette brings in a ton of viewers by showing off some serious eye candy, but for them to completely ignore the issue of juicing almost encourages more contestants to take steroids.
