It's official, people! Tim Tebow is a New England Patriot!
The polarizing footballer made headlines yesterday when it was reported he would be heading to Boston, and it became a reality today as he suited up for the first time and reported to mini camp with his new team!
There aren't too many details about the deal that essentially saved Tim's career, but what we DO know is that he wore number 5 at practice and has allegedly signed a two year contract with no guaranteed money.
Head coach Bill Belichick grumbled through an interview as he usually does and didn't give any details on how he planned on using his new quarterback, but he did say:
"Anything we do is what we feel is in the best interest of the team. Tim's a talented player that's smart and works hard. We'll see how it goes."
After that, Bill kept and Tebow-related answers to a minimum, but there are already TONS of ideas swirling on how he'll fit in with his new team!
Some believe the Patriots might experiment with him at different positions, particularly at tight end where both Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski are facing injuries. However, the New York Jets tried the same thing last year and Tim didn't really make the best receiver!
Others think they'll keep him at quarterback and have him learn from one of the best in the league in Tom Brady!
Tim will likely be competing for the backup spot with fellow QB Ryan Mallett, and with no guaranteed money in his contract he'll have to fight just to get a spot on the roster!
Either way, it will be VERY interesting to see how Tim develops with his new team and how the Patriots plan on using him!
