Paula Deen ADMITS To Using The N-Word And Racial Jokes In Deposition!

paula deen n word racist deposition admission admit racial jokes legal matters

We used to love Paula Deen and her recent healthy weight loss certainly is commendable, but we lost a LOT of respect for her when she hid her diabetes from her fans for years while continuing to teach them how to make the foods that gave her the ailment in the first place.

That's why when someone came forward from her restaurant last year with allegations — accusing Paula and her brother of making racist jokes and saying the N-word — we believed them because it was no longer outside of the realm of possibility after the diabetes stunts she pulled (like only coming forward after becoming a spokesperson for a lucrative diabetes treatment deal)!

Now she's been deposed because of that claim… and according to a source, she ADMITS TO ALL OF IT — including her brother’s cocaine, pornography and alcohol addictions! She admitted to using the N-word and wanting black waiters to play the role of slaves at a wedding party she was putting together!

She was questioned for three hours because of the $1.2 million 2012 lawsuit launched by the former General Manager of their Savannah, Georgia, restaurant. That General Manager, Lisa Jackson, also claimed sexual harassment and infliction of distress and assault by Paula's brother Bubba Hiers.

According to the source, when asked by Lisa’s Atlanta-based attorney if she’d ever used the N-word, Paula said this:

“Yes, of course."

OF COURSE? Like it's a normal thing to do??

Here's what she said about racist jokes:

“It’s just what they are — they’re jokes… most jokes are about Jewish people, rednecks, black folks… I can’t determine what offends another person.”

Bullshizz. Absolutely you can determine that, because you're an adult human being. The choice to say those kinds of jokes is up to you, 100%, with knowledge that they're wrong. You're a successful businesswoman, not a child who doesn't know any better!

Here's what she said about wanting black men to play slaves at a wedding:

“The whole entire waiter staff was middle-aged black men, and they had on beautiful white jackets with a black bow tie.

“I mean, it was really impressive. That restaurant represented a certain era in America… after the Civil War, during the Civil War, before the Civil War… It was not only black men, it was black women… I would say they were slaves.”

This woman's famous. She has fans and influence. We can't even wrap our heads around this!

We can't wait to hear about the full extent of this deposition! Maybe we'll finally all figure out the truth behind the cheery, down-home facade!

So what ever happened to freedom of speech, jokes, and the freedom to say some things that MAY offend some people. Its not right to attempt to force some people to NOT laugh when the N word is used…its just funny. Dave chepelle did it, and hes black, not all whtes have to love blacks, we all know the blacks dont love us. so there, and this country has its own mind nad voice. get over the damn joke, damn

  2. 2

So what. Who doesn't laugh at blacks, jews an gays?

    rep: sashafierce & Mad Dog

You two are just as disgusting as Paula Deen. Yes, we are free to say what we want, but when your saying is offensive or hurtful to another person it is wrong. Isn't this what we are taught as children? I was. Maybe you're mom and her brother (your father) were too busy making you another sibling to teach you. Go to hell!

Sasha and mad dog are missing the point. She can say what she wants in her own inner circle but she was saying these things at work! You cannot say offensive racial slurs in a work environment. I hope she gets her ass royally sued. She is clearly not a woman of good character. First she lied to her fans by cooking disgusting fatty foods while hiding the fact of having diabetes and now this. Go to hell Paula Deen!

Perez…I think it is absolutely disgusting how you are SOOO quick to judge people. I remember a time, not too long ago, when you were the biggest asshole ever. You've said much worse things than Paula did. You were a downright terrible human being. So maybe you should keep your mouth shut now that you're a "changed" man and realize that people aren't perfect. Especially you!!

  7. 7

Re: rojasdiva – And the final part of your comment isn't offensive? You started to make a valid point, then somehow ended up with foot-in-mouth syndrome.

Are you kidding? Look at her age..she was under oath and being from the south…OF COURSE she has used the N word in her life!!! Get real! Don't be so ignorant and naive.

Re: Joe Dawson – Joe, that has not been proven, which is part of what this lawsuit is about.

Personally I think anyone over 40 who has not used the word at least once is lying. My parents taught me not to use that word, but I will admit to losing it a couple of times (although I thought I was pretty good when the OJ Simpson verdict came down).

Wow Paula is a disgusting racist. So disappointed. So done with this women. We have to put a stop to this kind of behavior. Now lets all watch every hate group send her millions of dollars for putting down another a race of people. Shameful!

Re: Diana – you obviously have no brain. If you've never said the word, or won't admit it, I'm sure you're lying your ass off. She spoke the truth because she was being deposed under oath. Grow the fuck up, you brainless idiots.

So everyone on here has focused on her right to use the N-word. I personally believe that no one should use the word even blacks ( I'm black by the way). If you do choose to use the word it definitely should be used in a business environment. I'm most surprised that no one has mentioned that she had waiters and waitresses act as slaves at a party she was throwing and though that it was cute. It's nothing cute about that situation, it's degrading. I don't care that's she's from the South and over 40. Commonsense had to come into play sometime. I have relative her age and her from the South and they don't have that racist attitude.

  14. 14

I stopped reading when you wrote about how she helped people make foods that gave her diabetes. As a long time diabetic I know from PROFESSIONALS in the field that what you eat does NOT give you diabetes! It is not the same as drinking booze which causes cirrhosis of the liver (Note: Once you have been diagnosed as diabetic then the diet and exercise becomes important, as does taking of whatever medication is right for your level or type of the condition). Diabetes occurs when the pancreas no longer produces sufficient natural insulin. You can be thin as a rail, eat well, dance a jig all day and still end up diabetic. Also, there is no CURE. I have read that some claim to have cured themselves of diabetes by losing X amount of pounds and ta da their A1C counts are .6, which is the highest they ever should be. Sorry folks, you may be controlling it, but you are not cured. Don't go chowing down on cake and cookies. Diabetes is a progressive illness and only gets worse with time. All by itself. Hope this has educated you on the real deal with diabetes.

  15. 15

The F word and the N word… how about the A word for asshole which is what you always were and will always be? Bullies are bullies and don't change their spots. You're just editing what you write, or what you team writes, now to paint a sympathetic image. I recall the heartless days of Mushy Fartone (for Michca Barton) and Slutty Cyrus (for your now goddess Miley), and on and on. Every once in a while that side slips out, though. Funny because you're nothing to write home about, as we old folks used to say, and couldn't act or sing or dance your way, professionally, out of your own living room. Those who can do, those who cannot bully.

I find it very disturbing that she says "yes, of course" as if it is an everyday normal term. She knows better. She doesn't say stuff like that on tv because she knows it is a slur, and it is completely disgusting that she would want her black servers to act like slaves for a wedding. It is all terribly disappointing and sad to think anyone still thinks the N-word and racial slurs are fun and normal practice. Makes my stomach hurt.

everybody is really honest when they get behind their computer screens and can't be identified…. good to know so many of you are ok with racism, excuse me I mean "freedom of speech." good to know kanye west can't rap a line with parkinson's in it but it is ok to insult a whole race of people and demean them by wanting them to pretend to be slaves for a party. good to know that some of you feel that as long as you are not in a professional setting this type of behavior is ok. Didn't know that all of that was ok thanks for educating me. (sarcasm) if this was a black person calling white workers crackers or rednecks you would all be in an uproar but since its a white lady from the south this is all ok? ok. the world we live in lol sad.

You summed it up joss in a nutshell!!! Anyone who makes light of this behavior and condone it is just as sick and twisted as Paula D…and the D is for "Dum@#* by the way!!! Racism is an illness and I see a lotttta sick people on this post!!!

What gets me, is if it was a white joke then no one would have anything to say. Jokes are Jokes, and shouldnt be taking serouisly. You don't see white people crying everytime someone tells a redneck joke, people laugh and move on, There is a place and a time for everything and this may not have been the right time but it a joke. If it was a white joke then this wouldn't even be online.

  21. carrie says – reply to this

    21

I'm sorry as a white person I'm not going to ask a black person to pretend to be a slave nor am I going to tell a black joke or use the n-word especially not in their presence. we are so morally wrong in this country. freedom of speech my ass that is ignorance at its best. Not one of you would be ok if your black boss just start telling honkey red neck jokes or referencing you as one. this would be taken as racism and disrespect.

  22. carrie says – reply to this

    22

and I highly doubt that anbody is dumb enough to beleive racist jokes are just jokes for you to find entertainment in them means there are negative feelings coming from somewhere. they should make you uncomfortable wether they is about a white black mexican or asian person. if you do not harbor negative feelings for another race you shouldnt find enjoyment in racism in the form of a joke.

She has the right to free speech, jokes, etc. And I have the right not to buy her foods in the store, watch her, or give her any money in any way.

I also wonder how Oprah feels that she endorsed this woman for so long.

Character is standing up for what is right, even if you are the only one standing there.

Whether there were a lot of racist around or not, she should and could have said no I will not say these things and told others she didn't want to hear those types of jokes.

  25. Kim says – reply to this

    25

Perez, I won't even get into what a hypocrite you are (ie; YOU USED TO CALL CHILDREN UGLY & MADE MILLIONS OFF EMBARRASSING & EXPLOITING PEOPLE 4 THEIR PROBLEMS/DIFFERENCES). I just want to say: YOU'VE never said the N-word? I find that seriously hard to believe. EVERYONE: WHITE, BLACK and all in between, has made a racist comment or judge someone on their race. I find that she's saying "of course," meaning it in this way…. EVERYONE has said it, or another racial, religious, or homophobic slur, at least once. I'm not saying she's not wrong, she may be a full blown racist for all we know… but for you to act all high and mighty about it, when you made a nice living off of tormenting and bullying others, is ridiculous. You expect people to forgive you, & you had ZERO intention of changing until KK publicly called you out.

  26. 26

She didn't get fired for being a racist. She got fired for being stupid.

Whatever is in the heart will flow through the mouth. Apology is good but you can't take back what was said. Damage already done. Let people talk long enough you will discover who they really are.

  28. bree says – reply to this

    28

Eew, never knew she was like this. But I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, considering she's from the South. And sashafierce, stop trying to justify the fact that you're racist. Trying to normalize it, make it seem like people who are NOT racist are the weird ones. I promise you, there are SO MANY PEOPLE out there who do not thing racist jokes are funny. Why? Because they are good, intellectual, KIND people. And not ignorant pieces of shit like you.

  29. 29

Wow, you just don't say that…Or admit to saying that. Sure, we all make jokes about Jews, Blacks, Gays, Rednecks, BUT we all know in the back of our mind that those jokes are really not cool…maybe funny in a shocking way, but still…Not being from the south, I don't know what kind of jokes they say there, but when your famous…no way. And to admit it like it's cool, fuck that.

  30. 30

Re: Kat – Hello, bitch (sorry for calling you a bitch), but there is a such thing a morality and decency. I would NEVER say those things to anyone, or admit to it. "Freedom Of Speech"? BULLSHIT!

  31. Ollie says – reply to this

    31

This woman is completely despicable, she's a complete hypocrite. First, it was putting people's health and lives in jeopardy by intentionally misleading them about the consequences of eating her artery clogging foods. Then there was the controversy surrounding her weight loss - she's the type of person who would never admit having surgery to aid her weight loss because that would be detrimental to this facade of perfection that she maintains.

And it's never acceptable to make racist slurs, not even among just close friends. Yes, comedians do it all the time, but it's only if they belong to the group they are satirizing. Black comedians will do black jokes, Jewish comedians will do Jewish jokes, etc. It's no different than when a single comedian makes fun of his relationship/dating woes or a married comedian makes jokes about his family life. These jokes quickly become insults when someone who doesn't belong to that group makes them. And it's so much worse when it involves racist, anti-semitic, etc jokes because rehashes historical injustices and prejudices.

What's funny to me is that I bet it was a black lady who taught her to cook in the first place. Unless she came from a poor family, considering her age and where she grew up, I wouldn't doubt they had black help who did the cooking, and I know it's not right to stereotype, but I think we all know who makes the best soul food…

I JUST READ THE DEPOSITION AND SHE NEVER SAID THAT SHE TOLD JOKES WITH THE N WORD IN THEM. SHE SAID THE ONLY TIME SHE EVER USED IT WAS WHEN SHE WAS ROBBED AND GUNPOINT AS A BANK TELLER. SHE DID SAY THAT SHE HAS HEARD FRIENDS AND FAMILY USE IT. SO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT PEREZ. MAYBE READ THE DEPOSITION BEFORE YOU DESTROY SOMEONES CARREER WITH YOUR "I THINK SHE SAID" COMMENTS.
