samuel l jackson charity cancer campaign men talking health issues illness sickness benefit support

That's right, mother****ers! Samuel L. Jackson has had ENOUGH of men not speaking out about health issues, so he's going to change it!

Specifically, he's the new face of the One For The Boys drive, which urges men to visit their doctor on a more regular basis — leading to earlier cancer diagnosis rates! Sam has always been about charity, and now he's knee-deep!

Here's what he said about it:

"I have friends who have friends who passed… these friends had cancer and didn't speak out, or they waited too late to go and get it checked. It happens that men talk about injuries, we talk about spraining our ankles or banging our heads, but we don't speak about illnesses. There's a stigma of weakness in male sickness.

"We hope we can talk men into understanding that talking about your health or seeking evaluations (is a positive step). There are more men being diagnosed with stomach, lung and liver cancer, than there are women, but men don't want to admit that. We want them to understand that cancer's treatable if detected soon enough."

We really do believe this is an actual problem, and getting men to open up about their health is an important step to showing others that it's okay to talk about these super important things. There's no shame in being sick — it isn't your fault!

What you CAN do is make sure you get better, and try to catch being sick earlier!

Keep up the good work, Sam! It's not like you need us to tell you though, you BAMF! LOLz!
