aaron henrnadez patriots cut tight end from roster after his arrest

It doesn't look like Aaron Hernandez will have to worry about missing any playing time this season, as the New England Patriots announced they are DROPPING him from the team!

The footballer has been in the center of a murder investigation after the body of Odin Lloyd was found about a mile from his home and he was taken into custody earlier today!

Well apparently seeing Aaron in cuffs was the tipping point for the Patriots as they decided it was time to cut him loose!

The team released a statement on the move, saying:

"A young man was murdered last week and we extend our sympathies to the family and friends who mourn his loss. Words cannot express the disappointment we feel knowing that one of our players was arrested as a result of this investigation. We realize that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do."

The police still haven't announced whether or not he is being charged in the case, but regardless of how things end up, we have to agree with the Patriots' decision.

Even if everything somehow manages to wrap up in time for the season, the attention surrounding Aaron would be a HUGE distraction for the team, and if there's one thing Bill Belichick hates, it's distractions!

It's just NOT Aaron's day!! Or week! Or month!
