In addition to facing a charge of first-degree murder, Aaron Hernandez was hit with 5 charges related to illegal possession of firearms, and apparently fear was the main cause of his jumbo-sized gun collection!
The murder investigation that began last week prompted many to look into the former footballer's past, and apparently he has a bit of a history of violence.
Sources say Aaron became involved with gangs in his hometown of Connecticut during his teenage years, but he tried to steer away from that lifestyle after he signed a HUGE contract with the New England Patriots.
That proved to be easier said than done, as insiders close to him say he lived in constant fear and was paranoid that people in the gang community wanted him dead, causing him to arm himself to the teeth.
However, his gun collection isn't exactly a new thing as a selfie pic has surfaced showing Aaron posing in front of a mirror with a pistol. The photo is said to be from 2009 when he was a 19-year-old student at the University of Florida.
It's pretty clear that Aaron was worried about something bad happening to him or his family, but we're not quite sure how Odin Llyod ties in with his past.
