This is incredibly sad!
Last night, former President George H.W. Bush was taken by ambulance to Houston Methodist Hospital after experiencing a shortness of breath.
According to spokesman Jim McGrath, George W. Bush's father:

Last we heard, former South African president Nelson Mandela was still being held at a hospital in Pretoria, and while he's still in critical condition, some sources are saying he's showing small signs of improvement!
Current president Jacob Zuma paid the 94-year-old another visit and said he was happy with what he saw!
"President Jacob Zuma visited former President Nelson Mandela in hospital in Pretoria today, 27 June, and was informed by the medical team that [his] condition has improved during the course of the night. He remains critical but is now stable."
He went on to add:
"[Mandela] is much better today than he was when I saw him last night. The medical team continues to do a sterling job. We must pray for [his] health and wish him well. We must also continue with our work and daily activities while [he] remains hospitalized."
While we're happy to hear he's showing small signs of improvement, his daughter Makaziwe seems less optimistic about his diagnosis.
"Anything is imminent, but I want to emphasize again that it is only God who knows when the time to go is. I won’t lie. It doesn’t look good."
Obviously we continue to sent our support to the Mandela family at this difficult time, but it certainly sounds like they are preparing for the worst case scenario.
Regardless of how things turn out, Nelson Mandela will always be remembered as a man who was willing to risk his life for what he believed in and will always be one of the most iconic figures in South African history.
