Forgive us if we aren’t shocked by this.
Aaron Hernandez has been with his fiancée Shayanna Jenkins since high school, but he never officially put a ring on it, and now he won’t be able to.
It’s likely that this won’t happen because then Jenkins wouldn’t have to testify against Hernandez in court, thanks to spousal privilege.
Good move, legal system!
Sheriff Thomas M. Hodgson gave his take on the situation, saying:
"I don't subscribe to that. I feel that those rights are things that you access on the outside, if you're a good citizen. We'll do everything we can to not have that happen."
Another reason the authorities want to block this marriage is likely because Shayanna was talking with them in the beginning, until Hernandez called her and said to put a lid on it.
We’re baffled that Miz Jenkins would even want to marry the murder suspect before his trial is over, but it’s not the first time a lady has stood by her man, and it won’t be the last.
