Even people who drive race cars for a living aren’t immune to the dangers of driving while on the phone.
British Touring Car Championship driver Frank Wrathall was reportedly on his celly with girlfriend Zara Watt for seven minutes when he hit and killed bicyclist Paul Fingleton on a turn.
The worst part is that Fingleton was biking home from an outing with his wife and daughter at the Goosnargh Tennis Club.
He didn’t die right away, but the injuries sustained to his head and spine eventually killed him.
Wrathall denied being on the phone, but he didn’t have bluetooth and an automatic camera on the road caught him using his phone AND his bill shows that he was talking to Zara at the time.
The trial is currently underway, but there’s so much evidence against Wrathall that it’s not looking good for him.
Stories like these are so tragic, and yet they still happen every day.
Another totally preventable accident because of cell phones!
