Detox is the latest buzzword in the health and wellness industry. You hear so much about cleansing and may wonder just how beneficial it can be. A proper cleansing or good habits for naturally detoxifying the body can really help you to achieve amazing health benefits. The concept of a simple detox program should be included into a healthy lifestyle to give you the best results. If you would like to give your body a fresh start, "eating clean" is the most effective way to detoxify your body. By taking in more pure foods and less toxic ones, you will get undeniably great results.
Cleansing detoxes do not have to involve starvation, deprivation, or a complete lifestyle change and successful detoxes can cleanse your body of all those toxins and impurities that have been edging into your system for quite some time. Here are my 3 helpful detox diet tips to cleanse your body:
1. Lots of water and natural juices.
Lots of water and natural juices are essential to any successful detox so try to consume at least 12-16 glasses per day (8oz to a glass). Water is a major means of detoxifying your body, so take your intake to a whole new level. It can help to flush out your system naturally, and if you drink enough if it then this happens routinely. You can also start your day with a large glass of warm lemon water. Lemon water is a wonderful stimulant to the liver, facilitates the elimination of waste products through the kidneys, and promotes the digestive system, and blood circulation.
2. Substitute a meal each day with a detoxifying smoothie.
When it comes to naturally cleansing the body, a great measure can be to trade one meal a day with a detoxifying smoothie. Turning to a smoothie for one of your meals is a great way to bump-start your metabolism and to boost your digestive system. When people drink these types of smoothies they often experience weight loss as a result of their detoxification.
3. Avoid foods that generate toxins.
Your liver is the built-in detoxification center in your body. Therefore lightening the toxic load put into the liver is vital for effective detoxification. Lose the meat and all processed foods. If you can't lose all the meat then cut down your intake and stick to grass-fed, organic meat. Eat foods in their natural state such as organic fruits and vegetables, organic spinach or other leafy greens, nuts, seeds and grains and eliminate or greatly reduce consumption of processed foods, dairy and meat. Try simple swaps like substituting a meatless protein tofu or seitan for beef in your stir fry.
In conclusion, if you are looking at ‘cleansing your body’ from toxins accumulated through poor diet, over indulgence in alcohol or you simply want to regularly detox your body, select a program that you can complete within your lifestyle. It is better to detox properly than to just ‘try it’ which will have very little or no impact at all on your body.
