Burger King is about to have another PR nightmare on its hands, because a man totally found a live slug in his meal!!
The worst part is that Manminber Singh was halfway through eating his Chicken Tendercrisp sandwich when he spotted the slug crawling on the lettuce!
Obviously he complained to the staff about it and barely got any response at all! Here's what he said:
"The staff did not seem bothered, and the manager just wanted to give me my money back. She said it was a problem with the chiller, but I think it is because the place is not properly clean."
Sounds like it to us!
An investigation has been opened up, and here's what a council spokeswoman said about it:
"Our Environmental Health Officers visited the outlet and have begun preliminary investigations on their food management procedures. From this initial visit, it would appear that the slug has come in on pre-washed lettuce which was then overlooked in the processing of the food order.
"There is no apparent evidence of an insect infestation."
And here's what the Burger King spokesperson had to say:
"As a global brand, we aim to provide the highest levels of food quality and service in all restaurants so that our customers have a great experience with us every time. We are taking this situation very seriously and are conducting a full investigation. We greatly value customer feedback to ensure we get our service, restaurants and products right every time."
PR statements are SO BORING!
Anyway, maybe it has more to do with staff keeping an eye out NOT to serve slugs next time! Check the food you're serving — shouldn't that be part of the process anyway?
We're gonna have nightmares now! GREAT!
