Some people will just never get it!
We live in a society where people put lots of pressure on how women look, which is why it was so empowering that just one day after giving birth, Kate Middleton stepped out of St. Mary’s Hospital with a proud post-baby bump.
She didn’t try to hide it under a flouncy dress, but embraced it!
Katy Hill, a former Blue Peter presenter, was outraged and posted a pic of her own body two months after giving birth, encouraging new moms not to feel bad about the cover.
The editor of Parentdish, Tamsin Kelly, also spoke out about the cover, saying:
“For this magazine cover to be in UK shops on the same day Kate left hospital with her newborn baby is contemptible. For many TV and film stars being thin is part of their job, how they continue to get roles and make money – and therefore the rush to get back ‘in shape’ in an absurdly short amount of time is presented as a positive. It’s not. It’s unrealistic for the vast majority of new mothers, who simply don’t need this sort of media pressure – the Duchess of Cambridge included.”
The most important part about being a new mom is adjusting to a different lifestyle and making sure that baby is happy and healthy, no matter if you gave birth to Prince George of Cambridge or Jane Doe.
We’re all about being healthy and focusing on fitness, but this cover seems inappropriate.
Do U agree???
