If we're to believe this witness, it sounds like Joe Paterno DID in fact disagree with how the university "mishandled" its response to Jerry Sandusky's child sex abuse scandal, and was worried the school would try to scapegoat him.
Mike McQueary was the one who testified about this as a star witness in a hearing for three former Penn State officials accused in a cover-up. Specificially, Paterno said that 'Old Main screwed up,' which is what he called Penn State's administration.
Did they screw up? Or did YOU screw up for doing the alleged bare minimum of reporting just to keep on a child molester for the sake of your football program??
Unfortunately, questions like that will never be answered, as Paterno has already passed away. Oh, and regardless of how he felt about OTHERS screwing up, he is still thought of as a legend for the sport, even with his sickening involvement and lack of a proper response. He should have gone straight to the police!
McQueary is currently testifying in the case against former Penn State president Graham Spanier, retired university vice president Gary Schultz and ex-athletic director Tim Curley. They're all accused of not speaking up or really caring all that much when McQueary reported seeing Sandusky molest a child.
Of course, they claim they're innocent. What person having been able to live with the guilt over this for so long wouldn't be able to continue doing so?
Those poor kids.
