Remember when Alex Rodriguez was the golden boy of baseball? Yeah, us neither.
Those days seem like ancient history as the New York Yankees slugger has found himself in the center of yet another PEDs scandal and could be facing a HUGE suspension for interfering with a league investigation!
MLB officials are expected to make an announcement later today that could see A-Rod banned from baseball from now through the entire 2014 season.
If sources are correct, Alex would miss a grand total of 214 games, making this the largest suspension in league history!
However, this is where things get a little strange. A-Rod was expected to hit the field for the Bronx Bombers today for the first time since last October, and apparently that's STILL a possibility!
A-Rod might still be allowed to play while he appeals the suspension, which he is expected to do. But if his appeal is unsuccessful, some sources say his ban could be lengthened until the 2015 season!
It definitely looks like Alex still plans on putting up a fight, but it doesn't sound like it's going to end well for him! Oh well, at least Yankees fans will get to see what they'll be missing later today when he returns to the field against the Chicago White Sox!
