Bachelor Star Gia Allemand Dead At 29; Suicide Reported As Cause Of Death

the bachelor gia allemand in hospital critical condition

Gia Allemand, who starred on season 14 of The Bachelor, passed away Wednesday.

We had previously reported of her hospitalization in New Orleans, but we're extremely sad to report that the young reality starlet has died, following the "emergency medical event" that had her rushed to the hospital in the first place.

Further details have just been released stating that her cause of death was suicide. Gia's longtime boyfriend, NBA basketball player Ryan Anderson reportedly found Gia in her house Monday night. Upon arriving to the hospital, she had suffered "critical loss of brain and organ function." Her mom, Ryan and other friends were in the hospital when she died.

We can't even begin to imagine their pain right now.

Rest in peace, Gia..

Re: sarah – Sarah, maybe….. lying about being single to go on a stupid Dating Reality Show, but actually having a "long time boyfriend" who plays in the NBA… I guess she had to have it ALL.

Re: al – She was on the Bachelor years ago, did it ever occur to you that she found a boyfriend *after* the show? Shocking I know.

  18. 18

Feel bad for her family and loved ones. Selfish act though.

Gossip Cop has the statement that confirms that it is suicide. Surprised Perez hasn't posted it by now.

Re: The TruthRe: Nikkicat85 – I hope both of you die slowly and painfully of gonorrhea.

  21. 21

Don't know anything about her but still so sad to hear. She is at peace now, and the pain she must have been going through to lead her to this is now done. People can say the most ignorant heartless things about suicide. Rest in Peace Gia!

Re: CourtneySucks – Grow up. I never said anything too harsh. My brother killed himself 5 years ago. It tore our family apart. I hope you never have to experience that. After years of grieving it turned to anger…try being on the other side. It is a selfish act and it ruins families. Wishing people to " die slowly and painfully of gonorrhea" is pretty hypocritical/childish of you. I wouldn't wish death on anyone. She was probably going through hard times that no one knew about much like my brother. May she rest in peace and suffer no more.

  23. 23

i dont know her but thats too young to die very sad . xx rip

Re: Nikkicat85 – How am I a hypocrite? Forcing someone to live by guilt-tripping them into it when they're miserable makes YOU the selfish one, since it proves you're only relying on them for self-worth. My aunt killed herself so I already understand the agonizing pain but she's not hurting anymore and that matters more than me. Perhaps you and other dipshits sharing an idiotic point-of-view should die, or grow up and stop acting childish yourselves. This kind of thing contributes to why people commit suicide in the first place.

She left a lasting impression and just seemed so much more important than a reality tv star. I'm just heartbroken.

Re: Nikkicat85 – Nikki, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. My brother took his life last year. He was my only sibling. I saw him hours beforehand. I know just how much it can tear a family apart and leaves a gaping hole. The guilt and questions I'll never have answers to are overwhelming. I just don't know if things will ever be normal again, it's so hard to move beyond it. I can understand when you say the anger builds up because it has for me. I feel so much for Gia's family, her mother and sister. It is not going to be an easy road of recovery. You are not alone Nikki. THinking on you.

So sad. Depression can make people that have everything to live for do impulsive things. I have been there and stared it in the face. It would be a wonderful thing if any person that gets to the point of wanting to kill themselves reaches out for help before they do something so devastating to those that are left to pick up the pieces. Sometimes its just a chemical imbalance and all you need is some therapy and some meds as a short term solution to get you through a rough patch. I do remember this sweet beautiful girl from the only bachelor season I ever watched. I pray for her family to find peace.

Re: Reds – I'm glad to hear you mention depression in this way. This year we lost both of my husbands sisters to suicide. It was devastating. They were beautiful, smart, sweet girls. They either refused to take meds or refused to speak with a professional. Sometimes you can't battle something like this all on your own. It's ok for people to reach out for help. I wish they knew.
