Olympic athlete Rebecca Adlington at first thought her medals had been stolen after a break in occurred in her home today — including double Olympic gold from Beijing in 2008 in the 400m and 800m freestyle and a two bronze medals in the same events at London 2012!
Here's what she first tweeted:
"In absolute pieces. Some b**tards have broken into my house and stolen my Olympic medals!!! Something I will never be able to replace!"
It was only 20 minutes later that she found the medals, though! But don't be fooled: someone DID break into her house! They stole a car and everything!
"Medals have been found. I'm so relieved. They've been in house and stolen Harry's car and got keys. I'm just glad no one has got hurt."
That's such fab news!! We're so glad that her medals were found — because replacing a car is one thing, but you can never really replace winning at the Olympics!!
If we were her, though, we would bite those medals just to make sure! What if the thief KNEW to replace them with chocolate! It'd be the perfect crime!! LOLz!
Police, of course, are still investigating the break-in at Adlington's home!
