McDonald's Introduces Meat-Free Wraps In Canada! Team USA Loses!

McDonald's unveiled new vegetarian wraps in Canada!

CANDA - 1, USA - 0

McDonald's wants everyone to be able to "have it their way," vegetarians included!

Unless you live outside of Canada… then you're stuck asking for Big Macs, hold the meat. Just always be careful when asking anyone preparing your food to "hold their meat." LOLz!

Anyway, Mickey Ds is unveiling two new vegetarian wraps in Canadialand!

Instead of bringing back their failed veggie burger, they're coming out with a Santa Fe Veggie wrap and a Mediterranean Veggie wrap.

What's actually in the aforementioned wraps you ask?

Santa Fe Veggie wrap: fire-roasted corn, black beans, a blend of cheddar and Monterey Jack, tomatoes, red onions, lettuce and tortilla chips, along with a chili-lime glaze and southwest sauce.

Mediterranean Veggie wrap: garlic hummus, feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, lettuce, crispy onions and a creamy Mediterranean sauce.

Why is this product being unveiled in Canada specifically??

Because they found that not only do Canadian vegetarians want more options… meat eaters want some veggie options now and again too!!

Hopefully they unveil some cool new meatless options in America too!!

Way to give a hoot, Mickey Ds!!

Damn it! I am always on the look out for veggie wraps and sandwiches. Why dont they do that here. When I am starving, there is always a McDonalds to be found, but nothing there I ever want to eat. I'd rather eat my shoe than those hamburgers. I need, I want, I crave veggies. Come on McDonalds, do us proud………bring us your veggies!!!!

about as healthy as a big mac
The Toronto Star points out, the wraps are comparable, fat- and calorie-wise, to a Big Mac. The Sante Fe wrap actually racks up more Weight Watchers points than the burger.

I'm not a big fan of McDonalds food and have never once had a BigMac in my 40 years on the planet - but tried the Mediterranean McWrap today and it was delicious. Good job McDonalds.

These are WAY better for you than a big mac with cheese and fries. As long as the wrap and the dressing do not have bad oils then it's much healthier. It doesn't always come down to numbers, calories are not equal. Organic cheese and extra virgin olive oil may have tons of fat but it's NOT the same as hydrogenated oils in fries and big macs. Just Sayin. It's ok to eat fat as long as it's the right fat. Your body needs fat to be healthy and turn into a lean mean fat burning machine, lol. Avocados and nuts are good examples.

Re: Lis – Ya know what? Besides Subway and the odd Pizza, I don't eat fast food much at all, especially the burgers and fries type of deal. I used to and have, but I fell out of it, and now most of it seems gross to me. I can rarely finish a burger they're so gross. Soggy buns, super greasy, tons of mayo (Wendy's), but the odd time, Mcdonalds cheeseburgers, hamburgers, bacon cheese burgers, are so cheap, unsloppy, and alright tasting, I can eat 2 or 3 on the go. Rarely but sometimes, and I would also have to say that once or twice a year, a Big Mac combo with maybe a chocolate milkshake, is great. Big Mac is a good "burger". In the history of fast food "burgers", it's great IMO.

The Med wrap sounds good, the Santa Fe not so much. Last time I was there I had the Angus steak snack wrap, not bad. I seldom eat their fries although I love them. My system is just not used to much fried foods these days.
