We don't normally think of North Korea as a conventional summer vacation spot, but Dennis Rodman has never really been a conventional kind of guy!
The former NBA superstar is making his way back to Pyongyang to talk about the possibility of starting up a basketball league, and of course to say hello to his good friend Kim Jong Un!
In an interview he did recently, Dennis said he would definitely speak to his dictator BFF about the release of U.S. citizen Kenneth Bae, who was sentenced to 15 years hard labor for "hostile acts" against North Korea.
"I will definitely ask for Kenneth Bae's release. I will say, 'Marshal, why is this guy held hostage?' I could try and soften it up in that way."
Sounds like perfect issue to bring up over a friendly dinner!
However, Dennis' story has recently changed, as he said his visit will strictly be about basketball and visiting his good pal:
"I'm just trying to go over there to meet my friend Kim, the Marshal. Try to start a basketball league over there, something like that."
This isn't the first time that Dennis has put on his diplomat hat, and it will be his second visit to Pyongyang this year!
Despite having ZERO experience in politics, the former basketballer seems to think he's doing something right and even says he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his attempts to "smooth things over" with North Korea!
Last we checked, befriending an insane dictator doesn't automatically qualify you for the Nobel Peace Prize!
Perhaps Dennis should leave this work to the professionals and stick to things he knows, like maybe basketball!
