Sprinters all over the world just breathed a HUGE sigh of relief!
Usain Bolt says he will be ending his reign as the fastest man on the planet and hanging up his track spikes for good in 2016, but not before he takes another crack at an Olympic gold medal!
The world class runner says he's planning on participating in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games, then he plans on walking away from the sport once and for all:
"I think it will be a good time to retire, on top and just been dominating for so long."
Dominating is a bit of an understatement here! Usain has 6 olympic gold medals to his name and set the world records for both the 100m and 200m dash back in 2009!
And just because he's talking retirement doesn't mean he has any plans to take his foot off the gas! In addition to trying to nab another gold medal, he says he's hoping to break his own world record in the 200m dash next year!
We'll definitely be sad to see Usain go, but we have a feeling he still has a lot in store for us over the next few years!
