Inspirational doesn't even come close to accurately describing this story!!
A mother named Barbie Thomas is a 37 year old body builder. She's got more muscles than the rest of us, but what truly makes her special is her tenacity — she lost BOTH her arms as a toddler, due to an electric shock.
She's been doing bodybuilding for about a decade now, which might be tough for someone who hasn't lost both their arms, and yet she says raising her two teenage sons is the real hard work!
Here's what she said about it all:
'Someone once told me that you know you can never win, and to this day those words light a fire under me like you would not believe. Because when someone tells me I can't do something I will bust my buns to prove them wrong.'
Seeing what she's accomplished in her life after she climbed up onto a transformer and grabbed the wires with both hands, losing both arms which were 'burned to the bone,' we're inclined that this is one of those rare people who really can do anything they set their mind to!
She'll do cardio in the morning and then either weights, dance, track training, lunges and leg exercises. Then, she'll spend hours practicing her competition routine!
She does everything by herself, including dressing and alllllll the chores her teenage sons won't do (they're teens!), and she also does some modeling on the side! Apparently she was even offered a part in the Steven Spielberg film A.I. but was too preggers to accept!
All we can really say is that we're super impressed! There isn't much encouragement that we can give that would help her out any more, because she SERIOUSLY handles it all like a badass already!
This isn't the first time the 39-year-old's figure has caused controversy. As we reported in January, the American Pie stunner was accused of using Photoshop to make her already narrow waist even smaller.
Reid has admitted to getting plastic surgery in the past to make changes to her abdominal area and breasts -- but the actress asserts that she naturally has a lean shape.
Whatever the case may be, we only hope Tara is happy and healthy.
