Say what you want about Dancing With The Stars (mainly that's it's AWESOME), but the whole show isn't just one big publicity vacation for the stars — it's actually REALLY TOUGH!
Not only is it a mental game, especially if the stars haven't danced before, but it's such a physical journey too!
Nobody knows that better than current contestant, Snooki! Here's what she said about the tougher side of the show:
This week has been hell … for my ankles. Our dance for Monday's show is the rumba.
Rumba is all about being sexy and elegant – two things that are the total opposite of me. All week in rehearsals I've been practicing walking with my toes instead of my heels, pointing my toes and shaking my hips. My feet aren't too bad, but my ankles feel like they're going to snap off from pointing my feet.
My partner Sasha Farber said if I can't walk then I'm doing it right. Great.
That sounds… TERRIFYING!
We don't know how anyone could go around feeling like they're about to break themselves for the sake of looking awesome while dancing! The risk doesn't seem worth it!!
Ha, maybe that's a little dramatic, but still!
This dance is a tough one for me because not only do I need to be sexy and elegant, but I need to show sad emotion. I'm not a sad person. I love to laugh and be goofy, so in all our rehearsals I would crack up throughout the dance and I definitely think Sasha wanted to pull my hair out.
While we'd love to see you perform this flawlessly, we would totally kill to see you crack up and make the whole thing goofy right in the middle of it — we feel like making light of the sometimes stuffy/dramatic side of the show (it's about celebs dancing! it should be FUN!) might really sit well with the audience in the end!
But hey, what do we know?? HA!
