We're all aware how Barilla pasta decided to throw a good portion of their customers away by saying that they'll NEVER use gay couples in their ads because they're all about the 'traditional family' and the 'woman's importance to their ads' (we're not sure why they can't show two gay women…)…
And, they also added that gays "shouldn't be allowed to adopt" and other things that make no sense, especially if you're a world-wide company who loves profits.
At the very LEAST, if you love profits, you should love everyone! Yet Barilla says that if you have a problem with it, you can just go buy a different brand.
Well, we've been seeing the fallout and it's MASSIVE, and we've heard their disingenuous apologies. Now we're hearing from other pasta companies — and the alternative options to Barilla are looking bright and delicious!
'Just like pasta, we believe families come in all different shapes, sizes, colors and orientations. We feel it is important to represent diversity in our advertising and will continue to do so in the future.'
We really hope they truly believe that, and that it's not just a business decision based on what's going on with Barilla! Even if they ARE just saying what the world wants to hear, it's funny how they so easily understand how to avoid the mess Barilla's in!
Equality for all! Let's CHANGE 'tradition' to loving EVERYONE equally!
