Lee Thompson Young Had Bipolar Disorder Before Suicide

lee thompson young bipolar disorder

The coroner's report is in, and we're not surprised by what they found when it comes to the tragic suicide of young actor Lee Thomspon Young — he suffered from bipolar disorder.

While not everyone with a bipolar disorder commits suicide or even WANTS to, mental illness and depression play a major role a lot of the time when someone takes their own life. We had been hearing about Lee's depression as well, but now we know specifically what was going on.

Apparently Lee was also actively taking his medications, too. Lithium capsules and Quetiapine Fumarate tablets were found in his apartment, and in his blood. This doesn't mean however that medication can't or doesn't work — the world has seen it work wonders.

No traces of opiates, alcohol, cocaine or other drugs were found in his system, and he didn't leave a note. It will forever remain a mystery why he chose to end his life in that particular moment.

Such a loss. Our hearts are out there with his friends and family.

And remember: if you or anyone you know is feeling depressed and you're worried about their well being, there is ALWAYS HELP, and always different solutions to try!

my classmate's ex-wife makes $88 an hour on the internet. She has been out of a job for nine months but last month her payment was $19219 just working on the internet for a few hours. published here… www.Day37.com

An autopsy isn't going to reveal a mental disorder, you ignorant ass. His medical records will have, but not his autopsy. Blood work would show meds in his system at the time of his death … it's odd that, if he was taking the prescribed doses, that the medications didn't do the job, but stranger things have happened. BTW, ape face: No one comes here for your ridiculous moralizing. You are not an educated person; you are a simpleton. Do us all a favor and keep your stupid opinions and pep talks about of these things.

I also suffer from bipolar disorder and honestly, lithium was by far the WORST medication I have EVER been on… Made me want to kill myself, actually.

Oh! And what mental disorder did he get AFTER Suicide?
Send your writers to a Grammar course, Pérez.

My cousin has bipolar, got it when in junior high school, she has had to have her meds adjusted several times, now that she is in her early twenties, hopefully her hormone levels have adjusted and she can stay on her current meds.

Perez, I respect all you do to raise awareness of mental illness but please make sure your articles have their facts straight. Autopsies can't reveal mental illness, just that he was on his meds, not what he was suffering from. You have to be alive to be diagnosed with that. Plus even if he was on his meds, it doesn't mean they were working. Treating mental illness is a lot of work trying to find the right medication and the right dosage that keeps it under control…my best friend has been dealing with depression since she was 13 and just really got her meds under control in the last few years, she's now 26. It's sadly not just one pill that cures all.

Re: The Truthinator – What's the matter with the truthinator? This attack seems unprovoked and lets forget to be hateful for a minute whilst we focus on the actual story, this hot, handsome, talented man took his life, thats such a shame. Condolences to his family and friends

while the autopsy would not identify a mental illness,, the coroner's report likely had more information in it, including what could be gotten from his medical history. there is a very good chance that the coroner's report identified that he was diagnosed with Bipolar…
