This story is equal parts heartbreaking and happy.
A man from Ohio, who is terminally ill, fulfilled one of his dreams with the help of a lot of great people: he was able to give away his daughter at her wedding, from a gurney, because an all-volunteer group from the hospital was there to help him!
He was connected to a portable ventilator and heart monitor, which allowed Scott Nagy to complete the heartwarming tradition safely. We are SO HAPPY he was able to do this, even though he has metastatic urethral cancer.
Apparently working out the logistics of it all working out took almost three weeks to plan!
A nurse, some paramedics and their ambulance, a doctor, and a few others volunteered their personal time to make it all work! His gurney's sheets even matched the ceremony (above)!
His goal had been to survive long enough to attend his daughter's wedding, which was supposed to be next year. They moved it up, though, to help him reach his goal!
We are so glad this moment could happen for everyone involved!
