Colin Farrell Admits He'd Use "Whatever Powder" He Could Find During Addiction Days

We're so happy Colin Farrell is feeling well and living a healthy life.

And even though he might make it look easy, it has been anything but as the actor struggled with major addiction issues for so many years.

With his problems taking off around during his teenage years, Colin spiraled out of control with drugs and alcohol. Even before fame helped him score "whatever powder" he could get his hands on, he was using an unbelievable amount.

He admitted:

"I'd gotten out of control—for years I could indulge in certain things … I had quite a high tolerance for various drugs for years, I thought. It accumulated to the point where I couldn't put my foot on the brake anymore."

Luckily, with his young son inspiring him to get clean, Colin did check into rehab.

And not only did he get clean, but he has managed to maintain his sobriety.

Keep it up!

Re: Linny – yuck…if you like your men who are sex addicts, go for it…he would stick it in anything..why would you find a man like that attractive? Men who are indiscriminate are gross…just sayin.

well pretty judgement bunch no? not familiar with alcoholism and drug addiction? how do people on drug and drinking binges act? well they often times sleep around so do we forever judge someone on that after they are clean? do any of us want that? also he looks like he smells really? not a fan of men? there are some people that are just attractive across the board that would be one of them.yes.j

It's good to see he's not always talking about an addiction to yoga or vegan or something like that for most former addicts have addictions to other things.

He is ugly, and because of his weakness, he does not get movie roles…..

what a bunch of judgmental douchebags.
He's gorgeous and a good actor and he turned his life around after having a child with a severe form of autism; realizing he needs to be 100% with it all the time to be a good father.
Oh, yeah, that's so slimey….bettering oneself for the love of a child.
You don't find him attractive, fine, but you don't have to be assholes about it.
I'd still eff his brains out.

    Re: Be-Atch

You and the rest of these idiots commenting on this thread. Does it matter what he looks like or the fact that he has a child with severe autism? NO! Millions of people struggle with drug addiction and many people fight the addiction and WIN. In this case, Colin Farrell decided to change his life around for the better. Instead of you morons taking that into consideration, you guys are more focused on how he looks or smells or the fact his kid has autism.
I can't believe we live in a world with such ignorant, disrespectful individuals like yourselves. Addiction is a DISEASE, grow the fuck up and if you have nothing good to say about his accomplishments then stop reading these threads and commenting stupid bullshit that comes out of your mouths.
And your uneducated comment, "no wonder the kid did not turn out 'quite right'", I work with children who are not "quite right" and for someone like you to refer to a child that way, then something is obviously "not right" with you. Do not blame his problems on the reason this happened to his child. You know nothing about him, nothing about autism and you clearly know nothing about respect.

Re: now then – Wow, you got that all from this article? Do you know anything about addiction..respect..education? "He smells too' …Clearly you missed the whole point of this article. HE changed his life for the better yet all you can recognize is something so childish like, "he smells"….You must be so proud of yourself.

So glad Colin Farrell was able to beat this demon. Don't know him on a personal level, but anything that could stand on his two feet and say they won, is definitely a strong, inspirational person.

…it has been proven that parents who do drugs produce children that are not 'quite right'…not say'n this is his excuses, just say'n ……

do not carry rubbish! Jimmy has not autism but Angelman syndrome, a genetic hereditary disease, it can carried by women only and is transmitted from mother to child, so Colin has nothing to do with it.

    Re: baddy
I think it's time for some more education on your part because "not quite right" is NOT QUITE THE RIGHT TERM to use when talking about a disorder.
