You know that little place on your voting ballot where you can write in the name of a person who you want to win?
Well, the people of Boston have spoken!
Despite the fact that Marty Walsh and John Connolly were the only two people officially running for the Mayor of Boston on the ballot, enough people out of the 560 write-ins scribbled down Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz’ name to spark reports that he came in third, according to NBC Sports!
We’re kind of innerested to know just how many of those ballots listed the World Series winner as “Big Papi!” Ha!
However, it seems that since Ortiz wasn't an official write-in candidate, like Lee Buckley and David James Wyatt, his votes weren't counted, according to CBS.
So, it'll be a mystery just how many people wanted Ortiz to be mayor.
But one thing is for sure, this city loves their sports!
