It's been an EXTREMELY busy week for the Los Angeles Lakers as they have already had to play 3 games in just 4 days! But in case you didn't notice, one of their key players was NOT playing in their last two match ups.
Veteran point guard Steve Nash!
The Canadian basketballer only played 13 minutes Sunday night after experiencing pain in his back during a blowout loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and it looks like we might have to get used to seeing him on the sidelines!
"I hesitate to even talk about it now because it's probably not a good time, I'm feeling a little emotional, but it's hard. I really want to play and I really want to play the way I'm accustomed to playing, and to be so limited is frustrating. And also to not know where a clean-ish bill of health is is a little daunting too."
Steve was ultimately diagnosed with nerve root irritation and will be re-evaluated in 10 days. The Lakers say he's expected to last at least two weeks with the injury.
The veteran point guard has been plagued with injuries lately and missed a total of 32 games last season after suffering a broken leg.
We definitely hope Steve is able to make a full recovery and get back to do what he does best ASAP! Besides, the Lakers can use all the help they can get at this point!
