With Thanksgiving just around the corner and Christmas soon after, it's the time of year to give to others who are less fortunate than yourself.
So Wal-Mart decided to get into the spirit by holding a food drive, asking customers who come in to donate food for those who might not be able to afford a hearty holiday feast!
But the food wasn't going to a homeless shelter or a local charity. Everything was actually going toward their own employees!
Wal-Mart spokesperson Kory Lundberg said he thought the move was definitely a positive thing:
"This is part of the company’s culture to rally around associates and take care of them when they face extreme hardships."
Wal-Mart has long been criticized for not paying their employees enough to live off of, and it seems as though there hearts are somewhat in the right place by trying to help them out.
However, some might also say that by holding a holiday drive for their own employees, they are basically admitting that their wages are far too low.
Maybe there's something they can do to change that.
