Oh noes! What are we gonna spray all over our chicken and Chinese food and cold leftover pizza and spaghetti sometimes??
A judge has ruled that the Sriracha factory is going to have to partially shut down because of neighbors complaining about the smell!!
The city of Irwindale, CA is rejoicing because they'll no longer have to deal with the intense spicy odors blasting out of the factory.
For those of you panicking, like we are, and getting ready to sprint to your local grocery store, don't worry, Sriracha isn't going anywhere!
The company has argued that there's no reason to shut down the plant, seeing as how they're already past harvest season and so there are no jalapeños to grind up.
The city doesn't want the factory fully or permanently shut down, they just want things fixed so the smell improves!
The case could go to trial but it's hoped that Sriracha manufacturer Huy Fong Foods and the city can settle out of court and make the situation livable for everyone!
We hope this works out in the factory's favor cause that sauce is the dopenesssssss! Save Sriracha!
