The Winter Olympics are now just 10 weeks away! And nobody is counting down the days to Sochi like Lindsey Vonn!
America’s biggest skiing star has been busy battling back following a devastating knee injury at the 2013 World Championships. The question everyone wants to know is: will she be healthy in time for the 2014 Games??
Lindsey discussed her recovery with Matt Lauer on the Today show Wednesday morning. Despite how serious the tear in to her right ACL is, Vonn is remaining optimistic that she’ll be back competing for the gold is Russia! She explained to Matt:
"I still feel like I have a lot left to achieve this season, I just have to kind of take it day by day right now, but I still have time before Sochi. I've been doing rehab and I've been progressing every day, but in the next couple of days I'm going to start getting on snow here at Vail and see how it feels and hopefully get a couple of days of training before I head up to Canada. If things go well, I'll be racing next week.”
But we can’t help but be worried that Lindsey might be pushing herself too hard though! This is an injury you don’t want to mess around with and she’s already suffered a second tear in the same knee earlier this month!
We love seeing the U.S.A. winning medals and all but we would love even more to see Lindsey get 100% healthy before she tries to compete again!
We know you’re a fighter though, Linds, so keep fighting!
