She’s all over the place these days!
Not only was Madonna just over in Haiti, but she’s also been working to help the HIV/AIDS problem in Malawi!
The singer’s organization Raising Malawi has teamed up with The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation to help bring Grassroot Soccer to the area!
GRS is a testing and prevention program, which will go into communities where Raising Malawi has already built schools. They use soccer as a teaching tool, if you hadn’t already guessed that. Ha!
Madonna talked about this amazing new venture, and said:
"I’m excited to partner with The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation to expand Grassroot Soccer’s HIV prevention programs in Malawi. I'm passionate about education especially and these programs give girls and boys the tools they need to live healthier, more productive lives. Elizabeth Taylor was a role model for many, including myself! She devoted a large part of her life to making the world a better place. I know she would be pleased to see her work continue in the fight against AIDS.”
This sounds fantastic! The more people that learn about preventing this horrible disease the better!!!
