Following her return, the artist took a moment to thank everyone for their "prayers, love, and support" -- and especially the North Bergen Police Department for bringing her home safe.
Sharing a picture alongside the NYPD, Miz Quigley penned:
Nigella Lawson must be keeping a cocaine journal, because she got SUPER specific about the number of times she's faceboarded down Mt. Blow — and that number is, according to her, SEVEN.
She also claims that one of those times was because of 'intimate terrorism' by her ex-husband Charles Saatchi.
Nigella took the stand during a court case surrounding two employees allegedly using her husband's company credit card like a personal piggy bank, because they said she allowed them to do it in return for keeping her massive drug addiction under wraps. So Nigella stepped up, under oath, to deny the addiction claims.
Don't get use wrong: she totally confirmed doing drugs. It was just the addiction stuff she had a problem with, calling the allegations 'absolutely ridiculous.'
She claims she took cocaine six times with her late husband, John Diamond, after he found out that he had terminal cancer. The seventh and 'final' time was when she was being 'subjected to intimate terrorism' by Charles Saatchi.
She even admitted to dabbling in weed during the final year of her marriage, which ended this summer.
Here's what she said:
'I have never been a drug addict. I've never been a habitual user. There are two times in my life when I have used cocaine.'
What she means by 'times' is 'periods' in her life. The first period, like we said, was after her dying husband's diagnosis for a total of six times. The second period — and final time — was during her failing marriage (making 7 times overall!) with Charles. According to her:
'There was another time I took cocaine. In July 2010 I was having a very very difficult time. I felt subjected to intimate terrorism by Mr Saatchi. [I felt] isolated and in fear of…just unhappy. A friend of mine offered me some cocaine. I took it. The idea that I am a drug addict or habitual user of cocaine is absolutely ridiculous.'
We're not sure feeling 'unhappy' is a good excused for cocaine when there are LOTS of other options out there, including therapy!
Anyway, she finished with this:
'I concluded that I did not have a drug problem, I had a life problem, and I needed to attend to that and I did seek out a therapist. I found it made an intolerable situation tolerable. It's a false friend and not a good idea. I found the answer was in changing the situation and trying to create a tolerable situation for me and my family. I have to say, since freeing myself from a brilliant but brutal man, I'm now totally cannabis, cocaine, any drug-free. This was not behaviour I'm proud of.'
The problem is, there's no real way to prove that she did it any more than she claims, especially without proof (like a drug dealer who kept receipts or something) because the two sisters that the trial is ACTUALLY about aren't the most credible witnesses while looking down the legal barrel and jail time. It's hard to believe someone backed into a corner!
We're sure we haven't heard the last of this case, as the trial pushes onward!
We just wonder if anything more will come out about Mizz Lawson — and we hope she didn't just lie under oath if her drug use was more extensive!
