After putting the sexual assault accusations behind him, Florida State University quarterback Jameis Winston has gone on to have a successful year as he won the Heisman Trophy and will be leading his team against the Auburn Tigers in the BCS National Championship game tonight!
While his future in football seems to be VERY bright, the 20-year-old stud might also be looking to bite off even more and try his hand at baseball as well!
Athletes playing multiple sports in college is actually very common, however it rarely happens on a professional level, and Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders are two of the only athletes to successfully play in the NFL and MLB at the same time!
"You can do anything you put your mind to. A lot of people are going to say, no way, he's a quarterback, Bo Jackson was a running back. But if I put my mind to it — and the one thing I always seem to do is gain the trust of my teammates — if I can convince those guys I can be your quarterback and still go play baseball for the Atlanta Braves or New York Yankees…"
Jameis is actually a very talented baseball player who took on outfielding and pitching duties for FSU last year and was even drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 15th round of the 2012 NFL draft, and obviously his track record in football speaks for itself!
However, even if he DOES have the athletic abilities to pull off the impressive feat, it's unlikely that an NFL team will want a quarterback they're investing in to be risking injury on the baseball field!
Jameis seems pretty confident that he can pull it off, however, at then end of the day he'll probably have to choose one or the other!
