Whoa! This is like, totally crazy, dude!!
Colorado will be shaking things up this summer by adding several marijuana-related contests to their Denver County Fair! The new categories will include competitions for plants, clones, pot brownies, homemade bongs, and clothing made out of hemp!
If you're worried about the youngsters stumbling upon the ganja games, then worry not, because all of the judging will happen off-site and winners will only be shown in a "Pot Pavilion" which is strictly 21-and-over!
There WILL, however, be a live joint rolling contest on site, but these fatties will be filled with oregano and NOT cannabis!
The Denver County Fair has never really been too traditional and has included activities such as a drag queen pageant, and the fair's marketing and creative director Tracy Weil said they're excited to add a new page to the festivities:
"We thought it was time for us to take that leap and represent one of the things Denver has going on."
Contestants will be competing for a $20 prize as well as a blue ribbon, and if you're wondering why they don't win a green ribbon instead, it's because that's already being handed out for environmental categories!
If you're wondering whether these pot competitions will be popping up all over Colorado, the chances seem pretty slim considering a few counties have explicitly said they have no interest in adding marijuana to their agenda!
We have no idea why! Sounds like a pretty big hit to us!!
